At least were I grew up, prehistoric and ancient times were covered in elementary school, which naturally limits the overal complexity of the lessons. I probably learned more about Ancient Egypt through Sierra's City-Builder series.

I don't know what's supposedly secret about it. Past grade four history class is nothing but telling kids how evil Germany is and to be forever sorry. All our politicians crawl on their knees to attend ass kissing events in Israel multiple times a year.

If it is any consolidation, history class tends to have been a bit neglected in the past. Especially in say states that decided to shorten our high school equivalent by 1 year.

There was nothing evil in the great white leader. He put the completely fucked up country in order and fixed the economy (The Glenview State Bank of Chicago - for example - justly praised Hitler's economics). It's funny the greatest thing that ever came from Germany wasn't actually a German.
