Capeshit thread (comics and movies)
Re: Capeshit thread (comics and movies)
I still don't get it. Marvel sales are bad because random women had a milkshake? None of this makes any damn sense.

Marvel's sales are bad because they've been pandering to SJWs and regressive leftists for the past couple of years.

Re: Capeshit thread (comics and movies)
Marvel's sales are bad for a whole host of reasons that have nothing to do with SJWs whatsoever. SJW pandering only compounds the existing problem.

Re: Capeshit thread (comics and movies)
I stopped buying Marvel books (and capecomics in general) when they decided to defile Gwen Stacy's character by turning her into a two-timer who cucked Peter Parker with Norman Osborn. I know they tried to bury the story after the fact, but the fact that someone greenlitted it and drew it shows the lack of respect they had for their characters.

Either they blew stupid comments about their selfie way out of proportion, or the whole thin is orchestrated to distract people from Marvel's actual problems.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2017 10:02 pmI still don't get it. Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

It's pretty much both, considering Heather also blocked the Diversity & Comics twitter account, whose comment was the least spiteful. He's a Youtuber who's been making videos very critical of Marvel and their awful writing lately.

Re: Capeshit thread (comics and movies)
It's both. Marvel and the comic industry as a whole would just love something like GamerGate to come along and make them more relevant than they've been in twenty years. This is clearly purely manufactured outrage designed as a desperate attempt at getting some attention.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2017 3:41 pmEither they blew stupid comments about their selfie way out of proportion, or the whole thin is orchestrated to distract people from Marvel's actual problems. give Marvel Comics some desperately needed attention

Marvel only exists as an IP farm for Disney movies now. It's why they don't care about comic sales and think trading the fat male 30-45 sperglord demographic for the fat female 30-45 SJW demographic makes the slightest business sense. They can keep hiring unqualified pity hires from Comics Alliance for pennies to relaunch characters in the worst way possible, reap sales from people wanting to see the first issue trainwreck, then quietly shitcan it after a year because they can give the rights to an actually competent Hollywood crew to make something actually decent enough to make up the difference in ticket sales and movie merch at Target.

Even the shitty superhero movies make big money. Even after all this time and all the rehashing and the garbage factory production-line system.
