I could have sworn that I read that Better Call Saul was going to end with season 5. Maybe I'm mistaken though.

I don't see how they can get to six. Saul has broke bad (pun intended) the super lab was being built season 4 of BCS (and by season 2 of BB it hasn't even been used yet)we got Fring and Mike set up, and among other things, they've almost caught up to Breaking Bads first episode.

I think Esposito flat-out said so somewhere, and Odenkirk implied they want it to reach Breaking Bad's episode count, which is still two seasons away right now(since that show mostly had longer seasons). They haven't actually caught up to Breaking Bad's first episode, I believe it's still four years away in the timeline.

Besides, with how slowburn they go, you know it'll take a while longer for Jimmy to mentally get to where he is in BB as Saul. He may have the name now, but he's not quite the "send them to Belize" guy yet. Plus, I think they'll want to wrap up the flashback storyline with Gene aka future Saul and that might take a few episodes in the final season.

Jack Ryan is shit. It just uses the names for brand recognition while doing yet another story set in modern day.
