Re: Shitposting
It's OK to like it. It's not OK to go fucking nuts over it.
Thankfully, it's a non-issue here because we don't celebrate it anyway.

Forgot to post this yesterday. Whatever holds off the Christmas bullshit already stuffing the mail boxes.

They are pushing that shit hard over here though because the supermarkets want to make money. It's not as big as the US but it is growing in popularity lately with kids.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 3:52 pmIt's OK to like it. It's not OK to go fucking nuts over it.

Though you can't just walk up to a random persons house for junk food. If the house doesn't have halloween decorations the kids are told not to knock.

Re: Shitposting
Don't want the kiddies to accidentally knock at a house of peace.
We've had Christmas bullshit since the start of October. I haven't even spotted candy with Halloween packaging, but a shitload of Christmas crap.
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Re: Shitposting
The industry, especially Mars and Nestlé, tried to push it hard here for three years in a row. It didn't work out and they've given up on it about two years ago. Last year you'd see some things with pumpkins and shit on them but this year there's basically no trace of it.
I don't see it becoming popular in at least the next ten years. We've got the whole "kids running around in costumes going door to door for sweets" thing going on on New Year's Eve. It's what those too young for fireworks do. The older teens do the same, usually not in costumes, and get shots of alcohol. Because every festivity here includes heavy drinking.
The grown-ups go along with the small kids and also often get shots.
Because of that Halloween never took off here. The parents don't want to do that in late October when we've got basically the same shit going on just two months later.
Chistmas is much better anyway. It's super comfy, you've got more days off, the food is great and the biggest losers off themselves. It's just about the perfect hollyday.

What we do if we don't want trick r treaters to come to the door is to leave the porch light off. It's a universal sign in America. Your chances of getting egged or TP'd goes up however. As a footnote, my damn car got egged on Halloween night, dammit.

Re: Shitposting
On Halloween like 13 years ago some assholes shot up my bitchin' Pontiac Grand Am with a paintball gun. I was the only car hit so I assume I was directly targeted for some reason.
