Has anyone watched that Hannibal TV show? I checked the first episode out of curiosity, but it didn't grab me at all. Will Graham is basically the BBC Sherlock with wacky mind palaces that give him answers out of nowhere. As for Mikkelsen, I don't get people's love for him at all. He was fine in Casino Royale as a slimy businessman, but I don't buy him as someone who's supposed to be a credible psychiatrist. He's just creepy, uncharismatically so.

My problem with all the Sherlock Holmes knockoffs/BRILLIANT! DETECTIVES is none of them are normal people who are also smart. They're all autistic, mentally Ill, or drug addicts. Even in Game of Shadows they had Downey Holmes call his powers of observation a curse, like he just woke up deductive one day and can't control it. Whereas the real Holmes chose to become the world's greatest detective and trained his mind accordingly.

Found out that CBS does own Star Trek now, completely. So all the weird changes in Discovery are still just down to them fucking around and nothing else.

Parts of JJ Trek are owned by Paramount, but both that and CBS are run by the same folks anyway.
