Re: Books
Oh the movie was worse. Trust me. Had to sit through it back in 7th grade.

Proto-Hunger Games trash is a good way to describe it. Very generic.Cuckara wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 8:50 pmKek, of course they didn't assign Brave New World; don't want the kids to start questioning mindless hedonism. Anyway, is The Giver proto-Hunger Games trash, or is it a legitimately good dystopian novel? All I know is it's a young adult novel that's frequently assigned in American high schools.
We never read 1984 in my school. I kind of wonder if that was a contributing factor in why things are so fucked up now. I don't know how anyone can read about Newspeak, look at what SJW's do with language, and think anything but "oh shit, there it is."

>is Giver good or not
On the one hand, the whole story and premise of the Giver is really hooky and kinda faggy.
On the other, it pretty much depicts abortionists exactly as soulless as they are.

Newspeak, doublethink, thought crime, an oppressive regime, controlled opposition... it's basically their playbook. We never read 1984 in my school. How do you even make a movie out of this? If I remember correctly, the story's essentially just the two main characters talking to each other.Moe Bitches wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 9:03 pmOh the movie was worse. Trust me. Had to sit through it back in 7th grade.
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Re: Books
From what I can remember it was basically about some teen kid who lived in a world where there was no pain and all the shit and he found some old guy (who is the Giver I guess) and he gives the boy the redpill and he sees the world outside of his own and he takes his brother outside the world and then they probably die the end. So yeah basically Hunger Games.
Because of how wooden/emotionless people were in the book, I thought that it was going a (The) Room-like so bad it's good movie like drama mixed with campy acting but I gave the movie too much credit.

Re: Books
I read that ghost story she wrote. It was ok but full of black propaganda-tier writing. Beloved was the name. I had to go look it up. Wasn't nearly as scary as a horror story written by somebody like Lovecraft or even that hack Stephen King.

Re: Books
As much as one sees of burger pop culture over here, you'd be surprised how many of extremely famous people over in the states are completely unknown here. Books by some rando niggers? Nobody knows them.Cuckara wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 8:21 pmSo she's a nobody in Europe? Well, I'm not surprised. Over here in America, she's frequently assigned in high schools and colleges and is hailed as one of the greatest American authors of all time, but the people who shill for her are propagandist democrats like Oprah Winfrey.
The music business is even more that way. Ask people on the street who Drake is and maybe one in fifty might know.
Oh and up until Oprah was in the talks to maybe become Dem candidate against Trump she was even less well known. Actual nobody.

Re: Books
I've been reading a lot of non-fiction lately. Three I can recommend:
Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup by John Carreyrou
Stupid bitch believes she's Steve Jobs and punks Silicon Valley with historic fraud. Mesmorizes everyone with her Muppet voice.
American Kingpin: The Epic Hunt for the Criminal Mastermind Behind the Silk Road by Nick Bilton
Libertarian faggot sells drugs, guns, and children on the internet. Gets caught.
Columbine by Dave Cullen
Cuts through the media's bullshit narrative and actually researches those trenchcoat faggots.
