Shatner probably started out on the left, but decades of people annoying him and getting pissed at him for no good reason finally broke him.
If T.J. Hooker moved him to the right, then Denny Crane made him a certified legend.

Shame no one ever talks about that series anymore. Dare say it is a classic.

Here's more Shatner:
SpoilerShow

My favorite part is not just that he acts like a shitlord and shuts up that weak, limey voiced director. It's also the fact that he's right!
Anyone who who says Shatner is 'overacting,' doesn't understand acting. He turns what would be corny or garbage into something worthwhile and entertaining.
If I could switch places with him, where I fucked plenty of broads and told con neets to go screw themselves, you're damn right I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Shatner just always was sane. That's about it. He didn't change, politics did. He just stood his ground and accepted what he'd be called for it. Unlike a Soygon that never changed but got triggered about being called right wing eventually. I didn't largely change my world views and yet twenty years ago I was considered to be a neo-lib and today a fascist.
In the 70s he was considered fairly progressive, today he's considered hard right wing. He just went "Okay" and that's it. He's not racist or even against gay marriage but somehow, just because he told the SJWs to get fucked and isn't shouting how bad orange man is every five minutes he's considered literally Hitler.

But there's still proper hard booze around and it's not like it's difficult to make even today, much less if you can just replicate exactly what they need.
It stands to reason that if alcohol made in a replicator isn't quite like the real thing, then ingredients to make alcohol made in a replicator must also not be quite like the real thing.

Imagine spending a billion US dollars to be a loser. Could've watched animu and be one for free.

The one positive of NuTrek for me is that people don't mind Enterprise that much now. I always felt like Scott Bakula and co got unnecessarily bashed. There were some great episodes and storylines in that series, and they didn't shy away from actually using the legit TOS bridge design and making it look good and sophisticated.

All you need is sugar, water and yeast, really.

ITs almost like they had the rights to the TOS bridge, and they didnt have to change 75% of it for some copyright scheme.

No excuse for those powder blue aliens with antenna ball ears.

I will say this: the couple of Enterprise episodes that I watched weren't bad. They made better use of Peter Weller than Star Trek: Into Lens Flare did

Oh fuck off. Jeffrey Combs is awesome and the Andorians were a slightly better looking version of how they were in TOS, which is a lot better than the shitty downs syndrome orc nu-Klingons and every other generic alien-monster-thing on modern sci-fi shows.

The two episodes where they pretend they're making Star Trek for a mirror universe audience are still my alltime favourites of the whole franchise.
Bakula in a green Shatner tunic and coalblack hair, hamming it up like a motherfucker and spitting every word. Pure fucking gold

Combs is, and always has been, an insufferable faggot who only exists because fanboys pretend he means something. He's a proto-Will Wheaton.
