Went in for an ER visit 6 or 7 years ago. Got sent home saying nothing was wrong. I knew they were incorrect but they wouldn't do any more tests. Just some light pain killers and off I was told to go.
Next day I had to go back and I had a colon infection. Something the guy who saw me said they would have found, yesterday, if they'd listened to the pains I was describing which they had a record of me telling them.

I still get the calls about paying that bill, to this day, and I still refuse to pay it every time.

But in your case I'd just ship it to your mom and forward any bill collectors to her number if they call you, instead.

Another thing I have to worry about is my security clearance. Mental health incidents are taken into account when applying for one. I guess I'll have to see if there's an addendum for "my mother is a lunatic, not me."

Is it for a government job? Because they also take into account your family members and my mother was never denied any form of clearance despite being extensively questioned on actions taken by direct family.

All you should have to do is tell them what happened and you should be fine.

I work for a defense contractor and I'm applying for secret level clearance. One of my coworkers who went through the process told me it entailed filling out a bunch of paperwork and waiting so I'm worried I won't be able to elaborate enough. Honestly though I've lived a full life so this is only one of a few things that could disqualify me.
