I'm graduating with a BS in Information Systems. I actually have 3 years of experience working for my university's IT department. Part of the reason they pay a premium is the company is a government contractor and I would have access to information that could threaten national security, were I to divulge it to cousins in old country.

Not at the moment, they need to initiate a request on my behalf. The guy I'm going to be working with directly said they tend to hire either older people who already have clearances and younger people who seem like good candidates.

To be honest, I'm worried about my ability to be cleared because I have a somewhat sketchy past. But luck was on my side when I got this job in the first place, so let the chips fall where they may.
