I graduate next month so I started job-hunting in late March. Not knowing any better, I published my resume on some job sites and my phone started getting gang-raped by dozens of calls from tech recruiters a day, mostly Indians.

I entertained a few calls from Americans, but when one tried to offer me between $16-20 an hour I ghosted her and wrote the rest of them off as parasites. She later reached out to me with a part-time job working 10 hours a week at a place that would take me an hour to commute to.

I ended up applying directly to a bunch of jobs and got an offer for $70k/year + $3000 sign-on bonus a few days after the interview when I had asked for between $50-60k. The best part is it's within walking distance of my apartment. Recruiters: not even once.
