I'm not entirely convinced of that.

Oh sure, the series itself would happen, but the characterisation and style would be wildly different. Roddenberry would not allow a Federation mutineer to be a main character we're supposed to sympathise with. And if he did a prequel, it wouldn't be just fanwank like Discovery, it'd explore aspects of the Federation's past, continue to teach moral lessons(stuff that you can use irl, not woke ones) and likely keep them much more consistent with the older series.
Roddenberry was a cerebral writer unfit to micromanage a TV show, but he wasn't stupid.

The naval vibe is very strong in TOS. My favourite episode "Balance of Terror" is basically a submarine movie.

Man, I love that episode. Has a surprising amount of focus on the "bad guys" (aka the Romulan captain just doing his job), and I think this one's basically a prototype for the spaceship duel in Wrath of Khan, seeing how those two space battles are lot closer in tone than just about every other space battle in the franchise (with the possible exception being The Final Frontier with its more literal space submarine, but that fight didn't really last all that long).

Final Frontier is underrated. Sure, it's a bit silly and cheap, but Enterprise looking for God is the best premise since Khan's comeback

Mighty Gaym of Thrones is back with its first episode of the final season. The episode was full of such STRONG FEMALE GLORY that I nearly couldn't take it anymore. What I especially love is how they made all the male characters stupid and weak to emphasize the superiority of these almighty woomen who all act like alpha males. Oh, and I lost count how many times other characters in the show gave ostentatious compliments to these goddessses, "she's the smartest person I know", "many have had disbelief in her and now they're all dead", "without her we wouldn't stand a chance" etc. Mmmmm.
