Re: Internet channels you hate, but not worth their own thread
Morrowind didn't have any "proper" fast travel because Daggerfall didn't have it either. It's the concept of the player being able to cut actual time (absolutely necessary in Daggerfall) but the character still having to traverse the distance instead of just being magic'd there instantly.
I don't get what his problem is since Morrowind is relatively small and the game is broken as fuck so you can just levitate anywhere.

I like the idea of a game integrating fast travel into the game world. Ys gives you a crystal that lets you teleport between save points. The save points are stone obelisks containing ancient magic, so at least there's kind of a reason for it.
A lot of what makes Skyrim so shitty comes down to how artificial the experience is. Fast-travel in skyrim is absolutely necessary, but only because of the way the quests are designed. A quest to collect some stupid item might require you to go to the complete other end of the world map, which would take ages if you couldn't fast-travel closer. When you do get there, you usually have to go into a cave full of draugr and complete an entire dungeon as well. And of course, you follow your marker for the entire quest, because your marker will always point to the exact thing you need to get.
Skyrim really is the worst fucking rpg and the reason rpgs like fallout 4 suck so hard.

Not really. It takes 1 hour and 50 minutes to walk across the entire map from the very corner to another.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 1:48 amA quest to collect some stupid item might require you to go to the complete other end of the world map, which would take ages if you couldn't fast-travel closer.
Meanwhile, in Daggerfall:
Part 1 of 14. It takes 69 hours and 30 minutes.
Now, I won't say that all quests in Daggerfall are much better, although it's at least not Draugr Country 64.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 1:48 amWhen you do get there, you usually have to go into a cave full of draugr and complete an entire dungeon as well. The actual difference is that you HAVE to follow the quest marker in Skyrim because the quest will be shit like "There's an artifact in a cave somewhere". You can't find the place without it because you're often not even given vague directions. Go ahead and try to play it without the HUD, I dare you.
In Daggerfall you'll get quests like "Go to Davenmore and talk to Liribarus the blacksmith. He usually hangs out at the inn in his free time. Ask him about the goblet of shadows. Tell him that Trampus sent you. He will give you further instructions." and then you talk to that fucker and you get further, precise instructions you can follow easily because you've actually got a map worth a damn and get directions you can follow.
Daggerfall of course has fast forms of travel for the player but not your character. If you fast travel your character will have to make the whole journey and in-game time will pass accordingly. Depending on what speed you want to travel, what you travel with (horse, cart, ship) and if you want to stay at inns for the night or camp outside, what the weather is like and even if you're a vampire or not, time will pass and it will cost money. You don't get to teleport.

It's always funny seeing a more "primitive" game have the more immersive roleplaying experience. The Daggerfall way of fast travel especially sounds like it's straight out of some D&D session where the DM just skips uneventful shit ("You want to go to Davenmore by cart? Sure, it takes you 4 days, and you spend around 60 sp in various inns.").
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Daggerfall's randomly generated anything can be quite horrible though. I tried Daggerfall a bit after Skyrim but dungeons felt over complicated and worse than Skyrim. Some people are working on Daggerfall unity and I'm a bit curious about what it's gonna be like, but what really should be made is a muh hidden geeeeem Darklands remake with historically accurate medieval German witches and tentacles.

Current JRPG's are just hentai games with hardcore sex scenes removed and a more developed combat system.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 3:47 amCurrent day WRPGs are just shit tier FPS/TPS with stats and a dialogue wheel tacked onVoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 8:02 pmIt's always funny seeing a more "primitive" game have the more immersive roleplaying experience. JRPGs were a ploy so that the companies would be able to find the perfect loop of gameplay to entice otakus in buying their fantasy hentai games about shota and monster girls from the start. I mean, japanese Wizardry was just shy of a tentacle rape.
On a side note, Gamingbritshit is moving his socials to instagram(wow, what a shocker) and he uploaded a video where he's "nostalgic" about Kingd Hearts...which is funny, since the limey cunt used to proudly have a video shitting all over Kingdom Hearts while he was with Hellfire Cuntmentaries and even went as far to have them host it on their site. Seem's like troll's remorse if anything but I wouldn't be surprised if it's a paymetons scam, since he now went from DMC to Ninja Gaiden and beyond regurgitating things everyone said before, he just shows he doesn't really gets these games.
Dunno if I talked about video essays before but they need to fucking burn to the ground.

I need to watch those ninja gaiden videos of his so I can see if he got everything wrong as usual.
Reminder that gamingbitchboy thinks re6 is an unironically fantastic game.
He actually cost me money with that shit, because at the time, I liked some of his videos. I saw him and some other fags recommending re6, so I tried it out. It's buggy as fuck, mechanically broken and with a story far worse even than re5.

There's nothing fantastic about that game beyond the multiplayer and the waifulicious models of Ada, Elena and Sherry.
