Reminds me of Martin Luther's translation of the Bible.

I was using it as an example. Hence 'for example'Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 10:35 pmBut shouldn't we have had a decent one in the past century?

It's basically so they can slap "new translation!" on the cover and get a few extra sales. I'm honestly surprised old philosophical stuff is even sold in modern bookstores. People only go there for their pumpkin spice soy lattes and to steal internet. Can they even read in 2019?Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 10:35 pmBut shouldn't we have had a decent one in the past century?Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 9:28 pmBecause sometimes the original translators fuck up. For example, the original English translator of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea cut a quarter of the material and mistranslated a bunch of things, which radically changed the intent of some of Jules Verne's passages.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 8:09 pmWhats the point of constant new translations of old material?

Book stores in burgerland sell coffee and have computers? Isn't that what an Internet Café is for?

I need a procedure done on my jaw that will correct my pain and chewing issues and my socialized medicine won't pay for it. I'm looking at shelling out three grand. All I can do is claim the travel and said procedure on my taxes. Unless it's a surgical procedure done in the hospital, all oral care is in the private sector. Same with eyes and hearing. I pay my taxes and when I need some of it back to fix my fucking jaw, they deny me.
Fucking Canada. I'm definitely shopping for medical insurance after this fiasco but even procedures like what I need is often excluded in the fine print.

When I lived in Cucknadia a Mexican coworker had serious dental problems, it was too expensive to get the treatment so he decided that the best option was to ask permission from work for some weeks, buy flight tickets and do the procedure in Mexico for a fraction of the value asked in cucknadia, he went back perfect later. The lesson is to really to take care of your teeth there, even in shitholes like mine you must go to private sector, but the prices there are really max jewed.RAPEMAN wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 12:22 amI need a procedure done on my jaw that will correct my pain and chewing issues and my socialized medicine won't pay for it. Ah, wonderful. I'm having a dentist appointment on Monday and I've been having something like that for three weeks now as well. Like my left jaw muscle is constantly sore, always the worst just after getting up. I'm thinking likely something from that root canal shit I had done not too long ago.
Anything with teeth and jaw is just pure fucking bliss, isn't it? At least our socialism is actual one and I don't need to pay for it. Well, not again since I've technically already did.

I doubt you have TMJ. They want to install a metal brace in my mouth to correct the position of my jaw so it has a proper place to sit and hopefully the muscles will strengthen and hold it there. I just hope no actual joint damage shows up on the scans. I've been grinding my teeth since my youth so it's probably a result of that. Or my jaw is the reason for my grinding. Either or the money will be well worth it if the problem is resolved.
