My three favourite Disney films growing up were Aladdin, The Lion King and Toy Story
1) I'm not an Arab (which didn't stop me from wanting to be Aladdin. First day of primary school my teacher asked 'What do you want to be when you grow-up?' and I said I wanted to be Aladdin and the Forty Thieves and she said 'Er, maybe just Aladdin?')
2) I'm not a lion
3) I'm not a small plastic cowboy or astronaut
This didn't prevent me from identifying with these characters
Thank you! I’m sick of this idea of you have to be exactly like a character to identity with or like them. No character is going to be like me, stories are escape from my own mundane life.
I feel like that’s teaching xenophobia in a sense. The people in this film are not like you? Bad! Stick with your own kind. One of my favorite characters is Ripley from Aliens, I’m not a woman but she’s rad to me. I like Bishop too, but I’m not an android.
Lots of white kids want to be Black Panther and lots of black kids want to be Superman. It's adults who throw this race shit at them.
Again, thank you! I know a lot of black people who love Spider-Man and Superman, I think the former because they relate to an inner city youth raised by elderly relatives.
You know the world is fucked when DHI is my bastion of reason and common sense. I try to grit my teeth to the insanity of PC culture, but when it infects everything I love I’m left with no ground to stand on.
When I was about five my mum had come home and she'd had her purse snatched. So, the police were called and the police officer asked her if the purse snatcher was white or black.
And I had no idea what this meant. I probably wouldn't have an idea until I was about ten, maybe older.
All this race based agenda pushing is usually the domain of identity obsessed fucktards. They try to disguise it by saying that [x minority] kids need an [x minority] character so they can identify with them, but it's just 'think of the children' in other words, and the real reason they do it is for themselves, the real children.

The real children, sadly that’s the most accurate assessment I’ve heard of their ilk. It’s like the whole PC babies thing from South Park, it’s just whiny identity obsessed children.
Maybe I’m just someone who’s never felt much familiarity with people who I shared inherint traits with, but why is identity culture so rampant these days? My guess would be ego and narcissism, akin to that Dr. Seuss story with the star bellies sneetches. Snowflake syndrome to the max?
I think that identity shit might also qualify as condescending at best and racist at worst - in the "No you can't possibly identify with Peter Parker. Here's a Dedicaded Black Hero you can identify as" kind of way.
Thinking about it, there aren't really a lot of character I'd identify with who actually look anything like me. It's like these progressive folks don't have any ounce of imagination or empathy in their bones.

Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

That video nicely sums my problem with SJW identity politics writing.
I posted this in another thread but I saw some trans trash bitching about Dead by Daylight adding another white male. The game is pretty diverse on both killer and survivor sides, but according to a tweet by this count they need an “African queen” because the black female is in fact a male, with no evidence other than it’s this whiny faggot’s headcanon. These people don’t want fair representation, they want to dominate and drive everyone else out, you can’t have dissidents if everyone is just like you.

Was he implying that black women are overly masculine? Where would he ever get such a bigoted idea like that?

I know right? That whole deciding someone is trans shit pisses me off already, but the cherry picking SJWs use is infuriating. It’s like when Anita Sarqueesian said Samus didn’t count as a strong female character because she was “too masculine”
