So iconic that when the talk is about iconic vidya characters and somebody mentions "Clem" everyone thinks of a retarded Grineer from Warframe.

Point-and-Clicks also had a much more open world. You could visit a lot of different place at any given time, and the story progressed only after finishing stupid puzzles.Poonoo wrote: ↑Sun Sep 23, 2018 11:55 pmThe puzzle part was the gameplay in those games, while in their more recent "games" they took the focus off that. Rather than solve the issue of these puzzles often having solutions that make no fucking sense and solutions that would make sense not even fucking work because the designer didn't intend it, they just dumbed it down immensely.
I've legit heard fan excuses along the line of "But the guy dies later with Y choice, so it counts".Rapeculture wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 12:27 amThe narrative part of TT's games got dumbed down too. Often times you'll be asked to make a choice in the game and it will affect fuck all in the grand scheme of things. Make X choice, the guy dies, make Y choice, the guy dies too. Fucking GAY.
The beta cucks who defend this shit are fucking gay and should be sent to death camps. They're part of why the industry is getting fagged up with this walking simulator bullshit. They take it personally if you attack this garbage in any way, too.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 5:10 pmI've legit heard fan excuses along the line of "But the guy dies later with Y choice, so it counts".

Once again glorious Nippon has it right. This sort of thing is called a visual novel and is in a separate category from other games. And most of them are porn.Rapeculture wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 12:27 amThe narrative part of TT's games got dumbed down too. I'm sick of narrative experiences using gaming tech being passed off as "games." They are so fucking not games. They are fucking cancer. And I am honestly tired of it.

Thank you! And speaking of visual novels, the only ones I ever bothered playing were the 3 Zero Escape games. All 3 had genuinely great puzzles, and the focus was clearly on the puzzles, not the deep plotz shit. I mean the deep plotz shit was there, but it was clearly just a framework for the puzzle stuff. I'm glad they at least made the stories intriguing anyway, even if they didn't always gel.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 6:12 pmOnce again glorious Nippon has it right. And most of them require about two orders of magnitude less people than Telltale's games.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 6:12 pmOnce again glorious Nippon has it right. This sort of thing is called a visual novel and is in a separate category from other games. And most of them are porn.
If that ain't the damn truth. You look up the teams that made these games and it's almost always just a handful. Sometimes just ONE. As for the gameplay bit, I don't know about 100% PURE BLOODED visual novels but the Phoenix Wright games are considered visual novels and those have a little bit of gameplay.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 6:40 pmHuh, I don't think those are pure VNs if they have actual gameplay. Guess they used the VN portions for stylistic and/or budget reasons. And most of them require about two orders of magnitude less people than Telltale's games.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 6:12 pmOnce again glorious Nippon has it right. Wonder how all those employees who aren't getting severance feel about this. Presumably they aren't releasing the final episodes for FREE.
