IPAs especially, but don't get me started on that. I will give them credit though: IPAs do have a flavor. Not a flavor I like, but it's a flavor.

We've always had micro brews in the shops around here for the reason you mentioned (Seattle area produces a ton of microbrews iirc,) but the percentage of micro brews taking up shelf space has increased. A lot of the foreign beers and middle-tier brews seem to be losing their places on the shelves. I couldn't find any Red Hook ESB or Black Boss Porter last time I went to my local shop.

Brands like Miller Lite will always be around because cheap beer that does the job will always sell to somebody, but they're definitely losing ground to craft beers. There are some bars near me that don't even sell Bud Light or Miller Lite; it's all local stuff and beers with names like Old Scrotum Pale Ale.

So all I see with this Miller Lite ad is an unhip brand experimenting with modernizing their image. If it works (it boosts sales), they'll keep it up. If it doesn't, they'll try something else. Advertising is just throwing stuff at a wall and seeing what sticks, so I never get too bothered by woke ads.
