Re: Movie Thread
I haven't seen the third and fourth one yet. Are they what I'd expect from the first two?
I found them refreshing. Just the right amount of stupid and not trying to be goofy. Like classic 80s action movies.

I agree with all this.CuckTurdginson wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 8:04 pmI like most of them. You need a presence like Moore to make the shitty ones good, but I like some of the shitty Moores, too.
Really there are about four, maybe five bad Bond movies. Granted two of them are Craig’s.
What I’ll say for Barbara Broccoli is she kept up making each movie feel like an event, even in the assembly line era of Roger Moore, you didn’t get a new Bond every year. Not since the Connerys anyway, and even then those all feel like events…until you get to You Only Live Twice and he looks dead inside.
Amazon turning the franchise into an assembly line is where I hop off. Same for that John Wick spin-off that makes those four movies not feel special anymore.
Being a fan of Craig's last film, I'm happy to see people have now stopped whinging about his Bond dying and the fact there was a black 007 character for like five minutes (who ended up respecting him and literally gave him the title back).

The third spins it’s wheels a lot, but I thought it was alright.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 8:37 pmI haven't seen the third and fourth one yet. Are they what I'd expect from the first two?

The fourth one I really liked. The villain is super goofy, and probably my favorite of the four.
The spin-off is probably like…acceptable, maybe? I’m just not going to watch it.
There’s MI, which feels like a weird passion project for Cruise to do psychopath tier stunts, but that’s ending this year because they’re costing too much.
I like Den of Thieves. That probably had franchise potential, if the 2nd one hadn’t flopped.

Re: Movie Thread
How is it "whinging" to point out that Bond dies? That's a pretty big deal, I'd say.
Oh, the strong nigger femboss graciously gives Bond his number back. How swell of her!
I bet it was in development Hell for so long because they had to cut out lots of scenes of him getting dressed in a tutu and analy raped, beaten up by 80 pound women, cry about his daddy issues and getting made fun of for his tiny dick.
I'm surprised they didn't have him die of AIDS.

Re: Movie Thread
In what way? Bond's a 00 agent, so him dying on the job is nothing out of character. He dies a hero, so it's not ignominious. And the franchise was getting rebooted past Craig anyway because of how heavy his version of Bond was on continuity, and how standalone he'd been from the others. It's not like we were gonna have Henry Cavill or whoever still cry about about Eva Green's Vesper Lynd.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 11:32 pmHow is it "whinging" to point out that Bond dies? I saw Bond die on the big screen, I thought it was a neat way to close out this era and I began looking forward to the next one.
Logically, they'd just have a fresh-faced new Bond, with Ralph Fiennes still playing M in a similar way to Judi Dench. This isn't rocket science.

You would screech if they showed Anya Amasova getting one over Bond nowadaysKugelfisch wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 11:32 pmOh, the strong nigger femboss graciously gives Bond his number back. How swell of her!

Re: Movie Thread
His whole character is basically that he's the exception to that.
He dies a cucked faggot failure in what is essentially a suicide. Chauvinistic, masculine icon Bond ran through the humiliation ritual, got fully emasculated, degraded, disrespected and was overall at his most incompetent and got rewarded with a pity title and getting to kill himself for his effort.
Cool story if you're into dominatrix services that include watersports. Maybe you get off to that. Maybe you're just that fucking dense that you don't even notice what's going on.
An utter travesty and a targeted insult to anyone that isn't suffering from a sub triple digit UQ.

So many coof delays that No Time for Release did a billion at the box office and only broke even.ebin namefag wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 12:10 amI was never a Jims Band guy but I forgot how much of a shitshow the production of that last one was.
I think Bond is played out. I felt that in the back of my head during No Time for Release, and this Amazon deal confirms it. Dalton did the Fleming faithful take, Moore went camp, Connery did the sexism and a few faithful Fleming adaptations at the start. Brosnan and Craig did the, I guess, liberal takes on the character - though Brosnan was moderately better at it. Lazenby and Craig played with subversion. Every angle has been explored, and the mine has been mined.
Amazon will remake the Connery movies without the ‘problematic’ parts, and they’ll be mediocre and boring as shit. They probably won’t even be in theaters. I ain’t for it.
