The Good, the Bad and The Ugly just does everything correctly.

While Lindsay's Liver is out talking about middling 80's comedies, this is one great fuckin movie that the kids today would consider to be Problematic AF. I looked into the why into using brownface, and it looks budgetary. In current year +8 dollars, the budget would be about 7 million. "I can get you a bunch of wops, make a Western epic that normally costs 10x what you've got." And while that tactic is outdated, what they do with that money with regards to atmosphere and scale is something to fucking behold.

I love how much time the movie gives to let you live in this world. I love how petty the dispute is, I love the quotes, there's more quotable lines from this fucking movie than I thought. I love how for a good chunk of the movie, Clint Eastwood is just playing Bugs Bunny.

My dad loved that movie, so it's something that holds a place in my heart now. Whenever he caught in on TCM or other channel, we'd watch it. Good stuff.
