Speaking of Doomjazz, an actual nice discovery in the last weeks is this fusion of Post Retro Synth and Post Black Metal - two times the Post-ception! - it's like the french faggots of Kavinsky and Alcest had a retard baby :3

"Try That in a Small Town" sucks and everyone's made all of their jokes by now, so it's time for a new "right-wing anthem".
Enter "Rich Men Over Richmond" by Oliver Anthony. It's #1 on Apple Music. It's a better song. I'm not going to crank it up in the car (or anywhere else), but its stripped-down folky protest vibe is objectively more grown-up.
Rolling Stone has already attacked it while rightist Twitter celebrates it. Me, I'm struck by how this piece of working class rage at the rich fatcats would have made this a LEFTIST song not too long ago, though maybe you could argue that the brief middle-finger to the welfare state in the lyrics drags it to the right.

Complaining about taxes and fatsos on welfare has been "right wing" since Reagan. Complaining about powerful pedophiles is a newer thing but bringing it up seems to only go one direction.

You're right. Also, the title, "Rich Men North of Richmond", points the finger directly at government. (What's just north of Richmond, Virginia? Washington DC.)
A truly leftist song would depict government as the solution rather than the problem.

I just saw a news report about this guy on our national television, comparing him to (young) Bruce Springsteen and claiming that progressives have abandoned the working class.Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 12:16 am"Try That in a Small Town" sucks and everyone's made all of their jokes by now, so it's time for a new "right-wing anthem".

This is the only "change" that electing Giorgia Meloni brought.

I'm surprised to hear something approaching real country again, instead of all the pop bullshit that wears country like a transwoman wears a female costume.
