Am I the only one who likes every Star Wars movie? It's not that I'm not critical at all, in most franchises I have some major beefs, but so far, I've enjoyed every Star Wars flick.
Good for you, but that doesn't change the fact that there exist only 2 legitimately great Star Wars films in the entirety of the overpraised franchise.

I'd really like to know what was so "likable" about any of the Prequels, though.

It also doesn't change the fact that films are subject to opinion. There are no facts.

I like the prequels' storyline, the way it expanded the Star Wars universe(we got so many great novels, video games and of course the Clone Wars animated series), the characters(especially Qui-Gon and later Obi-Wan) and I even liked most of the actors. The visuals are fantastic. The scores are impeccable. The lightsaber duels will never not be cool.

I agree on the musical scores, but the visuals haven't aged well due to the overabundance of Lucas' CGI wanking & the lightsaber duels were more like choreographed stage dances rather than raw tensions that carried emotional weight. The acting was still atrocious aside from Ian McDiarmid's performances as the Emperor.

I can't say much about the novels, but the only good games that came out during the prequels were some of the ones that had nothing to do with the prequels, particularly KOTOR I & II. The rest were either barely mediocre to mostly garbage that didn't age well.

The lightsaber fights were way too choreographed. Maybe cool for a training session or something, but not for an actual fight.

The only good thing about the prequels is that more talented writers had the opportunity to salvage this era.

Maybe it's just me, but because the visuals were so oversaturated with CGI and bluescreen, I actually didn't mind them. It was more like I was watching a video game that happened to have real people in it and it just sort of worked in my head, especially in Episodes II and III.

I saw the official teaser yesterday. People are overreacting by being too positive or negative, all i can say is it look interesting but that there is not enough to say more or predict what it will be like.
Oh and i didn't see anything that reminded me of Empire Strikes Back.

You are probably the only person who likes every Star Wars movie, yes. Confirmed for retarded furry.

There are only 2 legitimately good Star Wars films. Return of the Jedi is about half of a good movie and half of a mediocre/annoying one. All the prequels are awful in one way or another. Revenge of the Shit is oppressively boring and tryhard. Clone Wazzz opened up new frontiers on sucking. It's awfulness is rough and course and gets everywhere. Not like A New Hope, which was soft and smooth. Phantom Menace is less awful than the others but still pretty bad thanks to a pointless plot, young anakin (sorry, "annie") and Jar Jar Blackface.

Force Awakens is better than the prequels IMO, but still very lackluster compared to the good SW films. It's worse than Jedi, which is a shame. Still the best JJ Abrahamic movie, but that's a very low bar. It's watchable and that's about all. It's a retread of A New Hope, but with a new cast that lacks the dynamism, energy and charisma of the old cast.

Funny, because "it's like a video game I can't play" is, for me, a very harsh criticism of modern shitty action movies.

Everybody bitches about the prequels' choreography, but Duel of the Fates is a legit good fight and easily the best in the series. And at least they HAD action scenes, unlike that piece of shit TFA.

Was watching the Rogue One extras and goddamn Lucasfilm is so corporate now. Instead of an attic where everyone works together like in the Prequels, every single artist has their own massive room in a massive Death Star-like facility and everyone just toils alone on their assigned project like cogs in a machine. Occasionally Kathleen Kennedy makes an appearance, clearly knowing nothing about Star Wars but not really giving a shit, and stares vacantly at everything she sees until everyone goes away. A corporate fucking pantsuit if ever there was one.

Oh, and more Rainbow Coalition bullshit. There's an extra on there that makes it seem like a post-script to the story, but it's actually a five minute propaganda piece where they pat themselves on the back for including minorities and strong womyn. Finally, FINALLY!!!!, Asians can enjoy SW too!
