Re: Movie Thread
Which is exactly the same twist that the original had. You would know this if you had actually watched the movie. Claiming that the second Elm Street is better than the first is like claiming Highlander 2 is better than the original. That's either trolling or showing extremely retarded taste. This said, I still think Elm Street 2 is a decent movie. It's inferior on every level compared to the original, but still quite entertaining film, partly because how stupid it is. Wes Craven's Elm Street, which in turn is one of the best slasher horror films ever, better than any installment of Halloween or Friday the 13th. I liked how the main character didn't get help from anyone and had to face and defeat Freddy alone. It had more depth than the typical message of the slasher movie: If you fuck or smoke a pot, you will taste the knife.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 10:42 amSpeaking of the 2010 remake, there was a minor unique twist when they made the first third of movie follow the hot blonde and tricked the audience into believing she was the lead before abruptly killing her.

Elm Street 2 is kind of a mess, but I do really like how Freddy makes Jesse complicit in the killings. Their relationship gets a lot more personal compared to Freddy and Nancy.

Psycho showed how to properly subvert expectations.
