Ridley hasn't been good in years. I didn't hate Prometheus like most people did, but I would hardly call it a "good" movie. More like a promising film which largely undercut and subverted its own potential.

Ridley was never good.

FTFY. He made a couple good looking movies, and some of his other films have decent acting or action or something positive to mention, but the dude has never made anything great or even good. His shit is just there, but for some reason the film world has to suck him off like he makes timeless masterpieces. He's a left wing hack who's basically the JJ Abrams of his generation. Tony was a better director.

There's something compelling about Alien. I will always consider it a classic. It has this element of isolation (heh) in an uncaring universe, that Aliens and the sequels never captured. Alien feels thematically closer to The Thing for me than it does to any of its other in-universe films or properties.

Gladiator is overrated though. Black Cock Down is ok, but mostly because it uses racism to infuse its horror amirite?

Blade Runner is good too imo. I know edgelords will say it sucks because Ford was phoning in his performance like he always does, and there are, like, 5 different versions of the movies. Blade Runner isn't an unsullied masterpiece. It was fucked with on every level during production apparently.

I reserve far more bile for James Cameron than I do for Ridley Scott. Even Cameron's "good" movies were essentially ripoffs. Chinese bootlegs stolen from that grumpy old jew who made I Have No Mouth (etc.) Cameron owes his success as a film maker largely to guys like Rod Serling and Harlan Ellison. Far from being grateful, he had to be sued to place Ellison's name in the credits.

Bleb Runner is good. Only fags hate it.
The narration is hilarious. I was caught off guard when Harryson 4ord said something like "this cop comes from a time when they used to call black men niggers!" Its not just that I didn't think anybody would say nigger in blade runner, it was that awful monotone he delivered it in plus how bizzare the whole of that line was. Kino for sure.

Wesley Snipes Runner looks good, sounds good, and has great production design, but it's boring as hell and has one of Ford's worst performances. Still better than 2049, though.
