Is there a good term for backwards gentrification?
I think it's called urban blight or urban decay.

I watched Apocalypse Now: Final Cut. Have never seen any other version of the film, so I can't really compare the changes(though I assume the French plantation stuff is new, since it had very little to do with anything else). I was very impressed with the film, particularly with Martin Sheen. I'd never seen him act before, and I guess I sort of assumed from Charlie's work that he was a comedic actor as well. But no, he has a good intensity to him, and a wonderfully attention-drawing voice(courtesy of smoking like a chimney, no doubt).

I'd expected the film to focus totally on Sheen's character, so I was also happy to see it was more of an ensemble piece, almost resembling the camaraderie in films like Jaws, but obviously with a darker bent. The characters' likability meant that the film was far more intriguing than something like Full Metal Jacket, where you can tune out after Ermey dies.

Despite a three-hour length, I didn't really have any trouble with the pacing - the progressively freakier sequences and simultaneous breakdowns amongst the crew(speaking of which, I love that the panicky chef ended up being the only one to totally keep his wits) kept the tension going.

As for Brando, well, the man's turned his own laziness into an art form. He's like the mirror universe James Rolfe - speaks bullshit off cue cards, yet somehow still manages to completely hold your attention. I don't know what it is about his particular brand of casualness that just works, but it does.

Babe holds up - I'm highkey dreading a third movie, though.

They'll go full Go Set a Watchman - and it'll be how the Hoggett's hate those nigger farmers down the way.

DHI is proof you can be both a massive homosexual and a virgin. They're not exclusive. If you display both in large enough quantities you can qualify for mod status.

Saw the sequel to Iron Sky in the redbox but couldn't bring myself to rent it. Apparently the interracial loving German babe from the first movie is now hunting NAZIs inside the hollow earth. The cover was amazing and told me all I needed to know. BTW, here's the lead in the movie:

 Never change Germans/Finns.

I think she'd be Turkish if this was a more Kraut-centric production.

I saw The Empty Man and The Unholy. Don't watch them. TEM is a knockoff of Slender Man and is mostly about an ex-cop investigating a death cult, ending with the twist that he's really only three days old and was summoned into existence by the cult to be an antenna to the Empty Man who will bring about the death of humanity. So basically the cult is the Democratic Party.

The Unholy is about a reporter (that Comedian guy from Watchmen) who accidentally unleashes a lady witch who is going to steal everyone's souls. It's full of jump scares and bad CG. The girl he's investigating looks a lot like Imogen Poots, but there's nothing else memorable. If you've seen a horror movie in the last fifteen years you've seen this one.

In fairness to Gay Bottom, he did call it a mess.

I think I saw bits and pieces of The Unholy - you can tell its shit with not much evidence, don't know why you sat through it.

The original Westworld movie is fucking solid - wish Crichton had directed more movies.
