DSP is lazy about every single thing in his life, including being a narc. He lacks the energy or drive to hide his narcissism. He's been rewarded for his bad behavior his entire life and has no reason to pretend to be normal or nice.

It's just the name they give to the kind of "Victim narcissist" that he is, I guess they call it that because it's a bit less like what the public eye imagines a narcissist as.
If he was an overt narcissist, he'd shift his focus more on how great he is and less how he COULD BE great if only those darn trolls weren't ruining his life. It's probably a bit more obvious with "covert" narcissists like Spoopy who often even tear themselves down because "Everyone is out to get them and it's all so unfair".
A subtle difference, but in the medical field people are kind of anal I guess, seeing how many of those messed up conditions exist.

What I'm saying is: He's not "covert" about it, but "Covert Narcissism" is apparently a term used to describe his condition to differentiate it from "Overt Narcissism", which has different outlying symptoms.

Dave is super boring these days. Streams to his audience of 200-300, makes 95% or so of his income from 3 people every stream (not an exaggeration) and isn't struggling financially despite his begging. Goes out of his way to play boring shit like danganronpa 3 and divinity 2 so detractors will have no khantent worth stealing. His videos now are absolute dogshit (they used to be mildly funny when he was drunk and screaming) and he does it on purpose. It doesn't stop people from making TIHYDP, but most of the new ones are trash because they have nothing to work with.

The worst thing DSP could do is fade into obscurity. Look at wings now that a lot of the youtube channels got bored and left.
