I don't get their obsession with the ZX Spectrum. That machine was a huge piece of shit with the ugliest graphics ever known to man.

Me neither, and that fucking keyboard. Everyone knows that C64 was superior in every way possible, but then, bongs have always been retarded with awful taste in everything.Liar Revealed wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 3:27 pmI don't get their obsession with the ZX Spectrum. Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

It's trash but it's their trash. Not being "from the continent" or "the colonies" instantly makes it favourite, despite it being bottom of the barrel in the home computer market at the time.

Re: Guru Larry Fat Cunt
I'm shocked when I see the original retail prices for these old computers. They were shockingly high, even before taking inflation into account.
I had fun playing games on my Commodore 64, but computers of that era weren't that useful for much else. Eventually I ended up with a dot-matrix printer and a word processing program (GEOWrite) that made it slightly more useful. I remember there was only one font that didn't look like crap.

Re: Guru Larry Fat Cunt
The C64 at some point became supremely affordable and it was the first computer for many people.
It's difficult to find a fitting comparison but I think mobile phones work. You can think that the retail price of some ancient Nokia was outrageous but in the end they were the first mobile telephones people could actually afford.
While mobile phones existed before, you likely never knew anyone owning one and car telephones were only privately owned by rich people. Otherwise, it was a company car that had one and you were in a high-paying job.
The similarity falls flat on account of phones in of themselves not being anything brand new. Personal computers were.
It was a time when new tech was actually something exciting. Televisions still had to qualify if they were colour (small ones often still came in black and white) and stereo was a big deal.
You're older than me. I shouldn't have to explain that.
