They did this to the Warner Brothers (& sister) in the New Animaniacs reboot. (Doge Walker has screenshot comparisons with animation cels of the old versions in his review.)

New Ducktales made Fenton Crackshell (Gizmoduck) a brown duck with a hyphenated Hispanic name added to "Crackshell" and he was voiced by the Hamilton guy.

I think they changed the shade in order to have a slightly better contrast between "skin" and eye color, but it just looks offs af. You don't just change a color that takes up so much real estate of the character.

And you know the funniest part of Reboot Gizmoduck? His armor now covers his neck, aka you don't see an inch of his feathers, aka his capeshit persona looks like a big, burly *white* duck.

I don't know if this also falls under "Cal Art" but I want to state for the record how much I hate Cal Arts.
I have high standards because I saw lots of old school anime back in the day like Ulysses 31 and Cobra Space Adventures.
That's also why I can usually not enjoy modern animu as much. I find it often far too simplified.
