How do you not know the basics of chess? The only basic of the game I don't grasp is en passent or whatever it's called where a pawn can move twice and also take a piece. There's like 3 different versions of that rule.

There is only one rule about en passant: if you move you own pawn 2 squares (from the 2nd rank to the 4th rank) and it happens to pass besides an opposing pawn in the 5th rank, the opponent can capture your pawn in his next move as if you had moved your own pawn only 1 square.

There's a real piece of arcane chess rulering that has to do with castling: while the king cannot castle while in check, the rook can be under threat when castling. Even GMs sometimes ignore that rule exists.

It's a special rule to a special rule. A pawn can break his rule of only moving one space (to speed up gameplay) his first move so you get to beat it by hitting the space he would've been had he only moved one space.
The castleing rule Redditeur mentioned is way more obscure.
Anyway, you're forgiven since you did not make a video about you doing the whole "playing chess with the devil/death" trope in a video.
