Tobe fair, the book is boring and ass. It's just a bunch of guys talking about libertarianism.

You had to read his comment in order to make that statement.

What they hated was that Fascism makes sense to some degrees and that it's in a lot of regards similar to their beloved Communism.
That's what Veerhoven did. He got 'bored and depressed' by the book, but even he admitted that the characters had to follow its philosophy to be successful because "war makes fascists of us all."
...and still: Spoony did nothing.

Starshit Poopers and Lensman are my favorite western novel anime that stingy estates won't let me watch on anything other than Laserdicks.
Unless you mean the CGI shitkinos by hackfraud Shinji Aramaki.

Oh, please. I am of course referring to the 1988 OVA known as Uchū no Senshi.

Fascism and nationalism, mainly. What triggered the libtards the most were the arguments that a) violence solves problems and b) soldiers are human beings engaged in something nobler than their own survival.

The left hates both of these beliefs with a passion, even though the first is a fact and the second is arguably true.

"Arguable" in the sense that the soldier's superiors have the responsibility of issuing moral orders, otherwise soldiers are little more than jackboots.
Heinlein's "only soldiers can vote" framing is just a play on every man working to eat or fighting to defend their families. Not too dissimilar from ancient armies (greek in particular), which were formed from men who all owned their own armor and weapons. It's the old soldier-citizen notion. If anything, Heinlein removed the sexism of ancient armies by allowing women to enlist. Many will say Starship Troopers is still a sexist book because the women aren't in the same mechanized infantry as the men, but the book was written in the 60s or 70s IIRC. Women serving in combat roles is still a contentious topic. Heinlein's women were combat pilots, which is a combat role as far as I can tell. It's not the same role the men serve in because women supposedly make better pilots, and Heinlein's novel is all about meritocracy.
