Well that explains why April left, she needs a new place to live.

It's legit. He's had foreclosure filed against him. This will require Spoony to perform actual tasks to not become homeless and/or in contempt of court. I'm not sure he has it in him to do things so it might be all over for him.
And I'd say this largely kills my earlier "holiday family fight" theory on why April left. Anyone thinking it was all about that free house was right. The ride was over so she hoped on the next train. I'd also say this ends the thought on if she'd get back with him. Even a lovelorn 40YO isn't interested in a homeless bum.
