Aspartame causes the body to produce insulin. Which in turn csuses the body to store greater quantities of fat. Meaning it makes you gain weight. And natural sugars fiund in unsweetened juices are not the same thing as processed, refined sugar. There is a difference. Not only in the effects, but in the actual quantity of sugar. But sure.... keep sperging about how much healthier carcinogenic ladened diet sodas are than regular soda if it makes you feel better about loading your body with chemical bullshit.

I knew some moron would come back with this debunked bullshit. We've had aspartame around for like 100 fucking years and still no studies that actually show a direct correlation between aspartame and cancer in humans.
How long was tobacco around before scientists definitively claimed that smoking causes cancer?

We've also had stuff like glyphosate around since forever, and there's still plenty of people who will claim there's nothing bad about that stuff at all.

Also people used to make all sorts of funny stuff with radiation (like using x-rays as a party gag) before people found it this is not exactly a good idea.

If someone makes enough cash with a certain substance, you can bet there's at least one counter-study for each study that says your shit has side-effects.

Took them about 80 years to discover the link, from the time they were first invented until the time when they were finally mass marketed and people started to get ever increasing amounts of lung cancer.

Doctors took a little longer to come around. It wasn't until 10 to 20 years later that most doctors believed cigarettes really caused lung cancer.

The point to take home is that diet soda has been mass marketed for years, now. I've seen ads and recommendations (and memes) for it since I was born and I'm nearly 30 years old, now. It took cigs so long because we didn't have ways to get the product everywhere and get ads for it in everyone's face in an efficient manner. Diet soda has had just as long and you'd think they'd be able to find some definitive link between them and cancer if they really did cause it, particularly with how many people choose to feel, "healthy," by drinking one with their huge fast food meal.

My honest opinion is that there are a lot of people with cancer causing habits and diets that drink diet soda so it's become a perpetuated myth.

Cigs also took that long because the tobacco industry was lobbying hard to not get the Official Scientific Seal of Cancer (tm). At least Murrica.

And there's so much chemical garbage in every industrial food we've consumed in the last couple decades that it's probably hard to pick out which ingredient is the most cancerous.

I think the bottom line, ultimately, is that there is no measurable health benefit to drinking diet instead of regular and it's potentially actually worse for you. That coupled with the fact that 99.9 percent of diet soda tastes like shit compared to their sugary counterpart makes drinking diet utterly pointless. It's for people who want to drink soda and trick themselves into thinking it's healthy.

Diet soda is absolutely worthless. If you're trying to lose weight, you only drink water. End of story.

I mean, yes? It doesn't have to be straight water all the time, a lot of those Crystal light sort of squeeze mixes help keep you off soda, especially if you're addicted to it.

It's really not that hard to lose weight, at least enough to keep you unhealthy. Watch your calories with meals and eat with water to help make you feel full and eat small meals throughout the day so your metabolism keeps active. Exercise isn't as important, but if you do it twice a week it will just make seeing results faster.

And most importantly, remember you're human and it's okay to eat and hamburger every now and then, a lot of healthy diets encourage cheat days because it helps keep you sane, and that's the problem with boogie because everyday is a cheat day. He might be saying I only ate 4 cheeseburgers instead of 5 and had diet soda, wtf is going on?

If he went with chicken wraps and rice with yogurt for a few weeks, he would be amazed how much he'd lose.

The whole diet soda cancer thing is 9/11 truther tier of conspiracy theory. This shit has been around SO long and there's still no established link. Multiple generations have come and gone with no ill effects.

Diet soda is still bad for you because the carbonation is bad. It fucks up your teeth, if I'm not mistaken. I already said that tho. Most food has chemicals in it nowadays, and anything premade is full of artificial shit. If you think something artificial makes it unhealthy, there's very little you'll be able to eat. Diet soda isn't healthy, but it isn't unhealthy either, at least not in the weight gain sense. It's a zero calorie carbonated beverage with a bunch of artificial flavoring and some salt. That's all the shit is.

Regardless, Boogie being 500+ pounds isn't because he drinks diet soda. It's because he eats a shitload of food. You don't gain weight drinking zero calories-the body doesn't work like that.

No it is unhealthy in the weight gain sense, and that is establiahed fact. It causes your body to produce insulin and store excess fat because that's what aspartame does to the body. It fucks your metabolism. In ways that even regular soda doesn't do.
