If one's parry game is on point he's a very good character. That behemoth empty jumping in and parrying anti air attempts is scary.

Sure, I'll bite.

I've played a fair bit of Alpha 2 and a ton of Alpha 3. I like Alpha 3 the best because of the roster.

Sakura is a unique and flexible shoto. She's a good choice overall. Her hurricane kick super hits low and travels forwards a fair bit, which makes it quite tricky for enemies to block unless they predict it. Her dragon punch travels forward further than most DPs, which gives you a lot of flexibility on when you can throw it out. Her hadouken is customizable in size and duration. A normal fireball gives you a small projectile that goes fullscreen (or almost). An extra punch tap gives you a large projectile that goes mid screen. 3 punch taps in total + the fireball motion gives you a HUGE fireball that comes out just a bit in front of your hands.

Overall, Sakura feels completely different from other Shotos, but still has all the shoto tools.

My personal preference for a shotoesque character is Rose. She's almost an anti-shoto with her reflector. Her anti-air grab super has a shitty hitbox if done with light punch, but the mid and heavy punch versions have good hitboxes and deal high damage. Her normals are crazy big and let her poke into the cloth drill. Oh and obviously, she's fucking Lisa Lisa from JoJo. 8-)

I've been playing a bit of SFIV. I still hate that game, but Juri is fun. I wish Juri was in Alpha 3 instead of one of the dolls.

Juri is the only good addition to the roster in SFIV. Too bad they really messed her up, like everything else, in SFV.

You're goddamn right.

All the other roster additions are terrible. Viper had the potential to be interesting with her earthquake shit, but she feels all over the place in practice. She has an earthquake shockwave, shock punch and fire kick. Why? None of this stuff feels like it makes sense.

Juri is just dope as fuck though. A completely different and fun playstyle where you sacrifice access to normals in exchange for always-available instant fireballs. Her super is great and she even does an ora ora ora during it. Feng Shui Engine as an ultra actually adds something interesting to the game. It's not some OP bullshit spam move you can whip out when you're dying to instantly win. It takes skill to pop your Feng Shui and know how to use it, but she can tear down an entire lifebar with that shit.

I wish Juri was in Alpha 3 or Third Strike so I could main her in a game with better system mechanics.

I think she's maybe trying a bit too hard to be eeeevil (then again I'm fond of KoF's Iori Team, so who am I to judge), but boy does she stand head and shoulders above the other SF4 newcomers. The hell where they even thinking when they made half of these guys? Karate Boogie? Lucha Chef? Turkish Wrestler Golem (I think?)?!

This sprite art done by fans just reveals how shitty the new designs for SF are overall. The luchadore chef is awful, Boogie2988KungFu is the worst capcom fighting game design, possibly ever, Gouken is bland, Viper is bland, Seth is nothing, Abel is bland, etc.

The SFV characters are awful too. FANG is a cartoon character. I mean, so was Bison but at least Bison is an OG.
