All this shit is emotional with him anyway. Reducing the size of his actual stomach won't do anything for his emotional problems which he admitted drive him to overeat.

He will dodge that issue until he dies. He will never get the mental help he needs because he is too used to being a manipulative fuck to get his way. He is too used to doing that in all social situations, he is over 40 years old so his personality is practically set. He needs an intervention, but none of his "friends" give enough of a shit to do that for him. They just like to virtue signal as much as he does rather than do what needs to be done.

Telling people what they need to hear rather than what they want to hear is a masculine trait, something Western culture lacks big time and creates people like Boogie. The fact that he practically grew up without a dad only makes it worse for him.
