Re: Movie Thread
Saw another Bollywood movie just now... Holy. Fuck.
So retarded.
At one point the bad guys merceneries said to the overpowered hero: "Put your gun down! Now we will kill you... with our bare hands."
And I was :O wtf literally facepalming.
This dark action movie only had ONE dance-number, though. Too bad.
Stupid Bollywood movies have been a guilty please once in a while.

Yeah. I still can't stop awkwardly smiling every time there's a dance-numbers coming out of nowhere. And the tone is sometimes all over the place.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2017 1:38 amSome of them are hilarious. Good shit to watch in company not exactly sober.
I remember one movie (not the name, tho) where there was an action scene, emotional scene, comedy, suddenly a bus of kids blew up after a car chase, more action ending on a low-note and suddenly a dance-number. I think that was my second or third Bollywood movie and I was just amazed while palming my face with a grin on it.
Any recommendations? I've mostly delved into Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar for the lols

Nah, I'm not big into movies. I see about two a year. I'm not the guy to ask for suggestions. You've seen more of that stuff than I did.

Re: Movie Thread
Return of the Jedi is my favourite actually, because it combined the maturity of Empire with A New Hope's adventure feel. Luke finally becomes a badass in his own right. And it's got Ian McDiarmid.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2017 10:46 pm
You are probably the only person who likes every Star Wars movie, yes. Confirmed for retarded furry.
There are only 2 legitimately good Star Wars films. Return of the Jedi is about half of a good movie and half of a mediocre/annoying one. All the prequels are awful in one way or another. Revenge of the Shit is oppressively boring and tryhard. Clone Wazzz opened up new frontiers on sucking. It's awfulness is rough and course and gets everywhere. Not like A New Hope, which was soft and smooth. Phantom Menace is less awful than the others but still pretty bad thanks to a pointless plot, young anakin (sorry, "annie") and Jar Jar Blackface.
Force Awakens is better than the prequels IMO, but still very lackluster compared to the good SW films. It's worse than Jedi, which is a shame. Still the best JJ Abrahamic movie, but that's a very low bar. It's watchable and that's about all. It's a retread of A New Hope, but with a new cast that lacks the dynamism, energy and charisma of the old cast.
I'm a sucker for drama, so Revenge stands above the other prequels for me, and rather blasphemously I'd put it above A New Hope too.
I go back and forth on Clone Wars. For some reason, I really hated that they brought back Darth Maul and made such a big deal out of him. But on the other hand, the acting is way better than in the actual movies and they did make Anakin's turn to the dark side much more plausible.
That's fair enough, but at least the environments are alien and varied, not the same old skyscrapers being destroyed over and over again.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2017 10:46 pmFunny, because "it's like a video game I can't play" is, for me, a very harsh criticism of modern shitty action movies.

Re: Movie Thread
Having Maul survive is like the most shounen thing I've seen in Star Wars. It's like friggin' Bleach or something.
That'S about my maximum quota for everything (minus games and songs). You wouldn't believe how little animu I watch for all the weeb that comes dripping out of my mouth.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2017 2:47 amNah, I'm not big into movies. I see about two a year. Re: Movie Thread
I don't like how they focus so damn much on Maul. He was a cool henchman who flipped around. And that's his character.
Also, if what Samuel L Windu hinted at in the SW 40 year anniversary-con (or whatever), he's coming back. How? Magic, I guess. I'd buy it that he could have survived falling one thousand miles down while getting electrocuted, I mean, Maul survived losing his bottom half INCLUDING his double-penis, but... how are they tying Windu back in? Is he entering Finn's mind while he's in coma? Since both are black, it makes the most sense. Guess he'll get his own spin-off movie :/
The only spin-off movie I'd like to see is an Obi-Wan one.
With a huge motherfucking universe, SW always goes back to something familiar and used...

It's circular storytelling or however this one crazy fan called it.
And what Revenge didn't show you was how Windu landed on a dumpster truck and got converted into Space Sherrif Blacan, aka Sword RoboCop.
