Really cool character progression for a children's cartoon character.

Korra is built around the kids who watched ATLA being 7 years older, which is why you have villains like Zaheer strangling people and that lady whose head got imploded. If you were 7 when ATLA premiered, the idea is you'd be 14 when Korra did.

Re: Movie Thread
It's genuinely a major pet peeve for me, because Harrison's humbled performance in that scene is the movie's one truly heartfelt moment that isn't just memberberries. It cuts right through all the bitterness and cynicism to reveal Indy's utter love and awe for history. Honestly, if the film ended right there, it would almost be worth all the shit we went through, because the contrast between his weariness in the future and childlike wonder in the past is so well done. In that scene, he's remembering why he became an archeologist to begin with, his relationship with his father etc.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 2:22 amThat's actually a great idea! In all actuality they should've made Indy a James Bond or Dr. Who character with changing actors but if one must have Harrison Ford be Indy to get old and die your suggestion would be the perfect in-character death.
It might have even partially redeemed Phoebe's character, as her flippancy towards being an archeologist is turned upside down when she's confronted by the weight of human history and what it truly means to Indy.
The end result would not be a great Indiana Jones movie, but at the very least a respectable one. I really love these films (even Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, bite me), so the disappointment of ending on such a shit note was pretty crushing to me. I will never understand the logic of sending him back to the 1970s.

Re: Movie Thread
Typical humiliation ritual. Hollywood loves that shit. Just look what they did to Bond.

Re: Movie Thread
Bond is fine though? I really enjoyed the last movie, probably more so than any of the other Craig films

Re: Movie Thread
Bro's probably referring to Craig wanting Bond to be a bum-buster.
I like some of the Craig movies. If it was an odd number (his 1st, 3rd) the odds were a little better, but I liked those 3 movies.
Only thing that pissed me off was the hottest girls were in Spectre and that movie is fucking dog water lol.

I'm referring to the entire Craig era being a pure humiliation ritual ultimately ending with Bond's death.
