Bro, Sleepy Hollow is awesome. He took a stab at Hammer Horror and made something wonderfully memorable.Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 12:26 pm"Mars Attacks" might be Tim Burton's last decent movie. Tim Burton doing twisted things with the sci-fi and monster movie influences from when he was a kid in the 1960s is my favorite Tim Burton. I see his Batman movies as monster movies. I am curious about his upcoming "Beetlejuice" sequel, but my expectations are low.
"Independence Day" is one of those movies that I think is probably a nostalgia drug for people who saw it at a certain age, but if you see it older or younger than that, it's fucking retarded. I remember it being a huge hit when it came out, but I didn't see it until years later. All I remember is that I thought it was too long.

But sadly also his last good movie.

Indeed, at least it’s a good one to go out on. I ducking love that movie, it’s a Halloween tradition for me. He really nailed that spooky colonial atmosphere without overly Burtoning it. I think Helena Power Bottom Carter cursed him or something.
Frankenweenie was okay, I liked the original as a kid so I enjoyed the remake the first and only time I saw it.
Anyway back to Soy Wars, so what I’m gathering is the force impregnated women to make babies like they implied with Anakin. The force is male! Fuck gou Kathleen Kennedy!

"make shit up"
do you not know that a galaxy is big mate?
The other I took from a Legends book. Death Star, to be specific. Dude gets spotted by the Empire for googling midichlorians on the Holonet.

Indeed. So big that all of Star Wars takes place in a tiny fraction of it and the same people and groups with a shared history of a very recent war keep running into each other all the time.
The idea that Jedi and the force would reach the status of a mostly forgotten myth thought to be a fairy tale in that short time in the very same region is not just laughable, it's proven false by plenty of influential people knowing the truth.
To top it off, that whole idea wasn't even necessary or good writing.

If Georgie wanted Luke to have no idea about Jedi he could've just taken advantage of him living in bumfuck nowhere.

Yea, he's got you there. Luke and Obi-Wan weren't transported to a far away, uncharted star system after Episode 3 and Phantom Menace showed that even a guy running the junkyard on Mos Eisley knew about the Jedi and the Force. Plus the Jedi were a big part of the Emperor's reason for taking control and are called out specifically several times in his speech.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2024 9:26 pmIndeed. Talking about the Jedi/Force being illegal makes a bit more sense but it doesn't sound like that was ever brought up outside some of the thousands of Star Wars books.

Re: Star Whores: Diverse Agenda
Remember when that imperial officer who got choked out by Vader called it a religion?
Btw did they do a callback to Obi Wan calling Vader Darth like it was a given name in that standalone series? Because he did it after their fight. Also I’m sure the excuse for Obi Wan never killing Vader is “Well Luke wouldn’t reach his full potential and redeem Vader” but considering Luke was condemned to a post glory fate worse than Gohan does it even matter? Kenobi could have saved lives if he’d finished off Vader in either of their fights.
