I went in expecting prequel bad. Damn near The Room bad, it's not as bad as the prequels but it has it's issues. I see it like Batman vs Superman, flaws out the mother fucking ass (which I blame on Rian having to rewrite the damn thing after seeing Episode 7 which delayed the film 6 months) but I see what it was going for but like Batman v Superman the whole internet is REEEEEEEEing like it's the worst movie ever made and that it has literally killed Star Wars (fuck off, if Attack of the Clones didn't nothing will). I expect worse for this reaction.

Just based on what I have seen of this movie, I would rank its plot a little bit above episodes 2 and 3, but probably under phantom menace, as bad as that sounds. It looks pretty fucking rank tbh.

I'm not saying Luke can't become a useless old man who dies a bitch death, but it kind of invalidates his whole arc from New Hope to RotJ, along with the entire build up to find him in Farce Awakens.

Rey can be a nobody, but she has to actually come from nothing and achieve things and learn and grow to become somebody I or anyone wants to relate to.

Kylo can be a whiny emo bitch, but it better fucking be for a reason. He's clearly a good guy, so why is he trying so hard to be evil?

Snoke can die early, but it would be nice to know what he was trying to accomplish.

These are why the movie could've been awesome and wasnt.

That’s about how I feel. Ep 2 made me angry. Ep 1 got me pumped up and excited. Ep 8 made me feel nothing.

He left a map to find himself in case people needed him.

People need him, so they go find him, and then he tells the people to fuck off.

Phantom Menace is a dumb movie and the podracer scene sucks ass, but it's fairly harmless overall. Nothing in it ever equaled the sand memery, engorged palpatine and floating pears of the two other prequel movies. That's why I'd put Phantom Menace above this new one. This new one has a lot of creatively awful shit in it that reminds me of the prequel movies. People said force awakens played it too safe and they were right, but the "Lucas prequels were better" fags forget that this kind of terrible creativity is exactly why the prequels sucked. I'd argue the last jedi is bad in the same ways the prequels were. Leia flying through space meme is the new sand.

Luke also has the most pointless main character death in the entire franchise. He dies of a broken heart/over-exertion while trolling.
