So apparently Mars is at it again and has Raider branded Twix bars. I stand at the register and two young people stand behind me. Twenty or so years old, a guy and a girl.

He grabs one and she comments. "Oh, are you getting a Raider?"
Pronouncing it like you'd pronounce raider, as in Oakland Raiders. That is not at all what it was ever fucking called here! It was of course pronounced German, sounding a lot more like "rider".
I felt an instant, sharp spike of anger. He attempts to correct her, she still pronounces it wrong. He gives up, I fight the urge to correct this zoomer cunt.

They talk of some other shit I didn't pay attention to. She says "lool". Drawn out "o" fucking "lol" in real life.
An icy calm washes over me, as I dehumanize myself and face to bloodshed.

Finally, I'm up. Pay for my shit and get to distance myself from the two chucklefucks and especially the chubby, daft cunt.
Self-checkout registers are a failure for stores because most people are plain too stupid to operate them. But they are a godsend for me, as I don't have to deal with shit like that at the places that have them.
