It's a long way here with modern tech. Our closest neighbors are fucking leaves and a busted-ass cartel slum country. Neither of which could invade us in a million years.

Internet people forget how complicated shit gets when you start talking about global warfare. Assuming your goal is to conquer a nation rather than level it with nukes, you're going to find it pretty well impossible. The US failed to conquer afghanistan after 20 years. Afghan is a dusty shithole where the standard level of armament is a truck with an LMG bolted to it.

It's still a simple fact that longer distances to your enemy increase your supply lines and your risk of having them cut. Further away -> more danger of a failed offensive. Even with bases, you have to hope the base doesn't fall to the enemy. Because if you lose the base, you basically lose your foothold.

Oh, you have jets? Yeah, you still have to have somewhere to land them, for repairs if nothing else. Your jets can reach the USA? Neat. What will they do when they get there? Our jets will launch from bases five minutes from the fight. Every pilot you send is basically on a suicide mission. Even if they don't get shot down, they'll have to land and they won't have a safe location for it.

One euro country can invade another euro country easily, because they're next to each other. China could invade Japan, Korea or Russia. But they won't invade America by force.

That's leaving aside the issue of how modern 1st world powers basically can't fight wars with each other at all anymore, thanks to nukes. Even assuming a 100% conventional war, America couldn't lose because we're too fucking far away from the other major world powers.
