That kikepedia article about All in the Family is all over the place. It states that Ein Herz und eine Seele was inspired by it, which struck me as odd. Sure enough, in the page for it it states Till Death us do Part instead as inspiration.
Great show, by the way. The episode Sylvesterpunsch is basically required viewing on Sylvester.

The classic New Year's Eve stereotype for Krautland involves watching Dinner for One - which is true enough tbh, but nothing is quite is festive as seeing Heinz Schubert (the actor playing the dad) go apeshit.

fuck i posted about cobra kai in the internet section after I just found out, and now I get here I see im very late to the party.

And while its not amazing or anything its definitely 20 times better than anything on tv.

I ended up liking it quite a bit and watched the whole thing. It's pretty impressive they were able to make a franchise "reboot" work so well considering studio projects with 100 times their budget can't seem to do that any more.
They were able to be respectful to all the old characters while introducing the new ones in a natural way.

I hope that they can still keep up the high quality if YouTube renews them for a season 2.

Yeah im on episode 8 at the moment started today with 1 so I can say Im hooked. Perfect combination of humor, emotional teen shit, dad/son issues etc etc and the connection to the karate kid movies.
Its almost like barney stinsons (from how i met your mother) wet dream came true lol

I saw will smith was involved which surprised me, this is the only thing in years ive liked where he had anything to do with it. Maybe he just financed it?

Also the acting is better than most series or movies Ive seen in years.

The best parts were the bonding between Daniel san and Johnny and Johnny turning into a better man, the end of season one doesnt complete that so I expect more.


edit: this show is also a perfect example of nostalgia done right, not just using it for a quick cash in but as a background for a great new story
