Of course, the usual apologists are saying that their sports have had a mixed bag of ratings because they're all up against so many others at he same time.
Yeah...get bent with that. All the major sports embraced the Black Crap Matters close to the resumption of their season. Which turned a lot of conservatives off right away (who tend to be your most loyal and reliable customers), and they never gave it a chance again.
The networks tried to push their wokeball shit instead of alternatives so many people weren't even aware things like the Derby were on (although even with its lower ratings--it was still the highest of the day).

The left tends to follow trends, so they jumped off as soon as it looked fake and boring without hype. Other contributors to sports ratings down might be simply because the rest of us are going outside or trying to work for a damn living. Kids that aren't protesting are stuck in home school. Last thing they want is to watch more stuff at home after being cooped up all summer. Why watch a game when you can--you know--PLAY it? Or camp, or do something is the no-restriction parks.

The NFL quickly tried to kibosh most of the kneeling coverage during the actual broadcasts. The TV angle is lowered so the empty crowd isn't much of an effect. And of course, the message means jack shit when you start trying to hit your black opponents like a cop would.

College handegg commercials still occasionally veer into preaching land. But it isn't nearly as blatant, and besides: the players aren't kneeling or protesting, the stadiums have actual fans in them, and everyone saw the Power 5 completely fold and bow to the pressure of Saturday games just like that.
College was already popular, so that one is carrying over.
