There's not a single movie coming out this entire year that interests me.

I think the last time I've been in the cinema was The Dark Knight. I liked it but wasn't hype about it and only went because a friend wanted to go. Last movie I actually wanted to watch was either Terminator 3 or 300, whichever came last.
The last two movies I really wanted to see were The Wolf of Wallstreet and Dredd.
Between them, I've watched two other movie, I believe. Some war movie at a friend's place and Mad not-Max: Faggot Road at the same friend's place. Hated nu-Mad Max. Utterly forgettable trash with one good meme and good effects but otherwise super empty. The most fun I had with that movie was counting how many rounds Max would shoot with one magazine of the Glock brand Glock. 26, if I remember correctly.

Seriously, fuck movies. It's a dead medium by and large. It's not even like I hate movies or anything. As me about classics and I've likely watched them. Godfather 1-3, The Matrix 1-3, Fight Club, Clockwork Orange, 2001, Casino, Goodfellas, every Tarantino up until Planet Whatever, pretty much everything important to pop culture and from that top ten highest grossing, inflation corrected list I've seen everything except Doctor Zhivago and The Sound of Music.
It's just that to me it's like with books. I have little problems to go through six Dune novels to know what's up or Lovecraft's stuff, like I've got no problem to watch highly relevant movies or pretty much everything that involves the mafia. Ask me to give a fuck about GoT or Mahvel shit, though, and I have a really hard time to justify even considering them.

I really only visit cinemas for franchise titles, I hate to waste money on something I'm not sure I'll enjoy on some level. I think in 2017, I only saw Trainspotting 2, Pirates 5(which was absolute crap) and The Last Jedi.

See, that's the reason I don't go to cinema anymore. You either get new crap you'll likely hate or you get franchise shit that's almost guaranteed to be shit as well. It's a lose-lose situation. Even when people I consider halfway reliable tell me some movie is good it's a 50:50 so I'll only watch it if it's no additional cost.
