Re: Reddit Letter Media
It’s not innovative at all. The entire point of the prequel is that the Jedi were really know better than the Sith in the first place.. the Prequels did a good enough job of painting the Jedi as evil that it is no wonder Palpatine was able to exterminate them.

I couldn't even finish watching that latest Mr. Plinkett Star Wars episode. Who cares about Star Wars anymore? Move on.

It’s the ultimate irony that they bitch about modern trek but shell for modern Star Wars

I would really like to know if all these shows on the streaming networks are actually worth it. None of them are a phenomenon like The Sopranos, despite several of them costing well more to produce. They can't all be writeoffs but I doubt most make people subscribe.

Re: Reddit Letter Media
RLM have given lukewarm-to-negative reviews of most modern Star Wars stuff (when they cover it at all) and the latest video is Mike saying that he's done with it. How anyone gets "RLM are shills for modern Star Wars" out of that is a serious indictment of the public education system.
In any case, I think that one big problem with Star Wars is that I don't know why any filmmaker with any vision would want to be a part of it, beyond the paycheck. Disney has a history of firing directors in the middle of production and reshooting large portions of films with a second director. I just assume that anyone making new Star Wars shit is a wannabe corporate hack happy to play along with anything that the people in the boardrooms want.

The money is good, they likely have nice severance payments in their contracts and they get their foot in the door.Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 1:21 pmIn any case, I think that one big problem with Star Wars is that I don't know why any filmmaker with any vision would want to be a part of it, beyond the paycheck. Let's not forget that they all think that they will be the one who everything works out for. If they should ever luck out and make something massively successful, they are set for life professionally.
Look at Jar Jar Abrams. Fumbled his way through Lost with a lot of luck, got the chance to make a terrible Star Trek that was a financial success and is now an absolute institution in Pedowood, no matter how badly he fucks up from here on out.

They say Mandalorian and book of boba fett are, but I don’t actually care enough to check those outKugelfisch wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 11:18 amI would really like to know if all these shows on the streaming networks are actually worth it. Because he practically was saying that “the acolyte and Andor are not as bad as you think they are you guys. The prequels are still worse. At least these new Disney shows are trying something new..”Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 1:21 pmRLM have given lukewarm-to-negative reviews of most modern Star Wars stuff (when they cover it at all) and the latest video is Mike saying that he's done with it. Even though these are the same guys who trashed on the original expanded universe for not making sense or being too geeky while praising the new expanded universe for its originality, despite it being infinitely worse and everything they bitch about in regards to modern trek and how they’re totally not gonna put up with it and watch it anymore. I would personally rather have the original expanded universe back thank you very much even if not everything in it was my cup of tea.
I also don’t exactly find it lukewarm or negative when their only gripe about it is that “it’s okay. It’s watchable. But it doesn’t do anything mind blowing.”
