Omega continues to be a bit of a goofball (almost revealing his identity three times in this episode alone), and the monsters have some fun powers.

Next episode's kaiju looking pretty rad, even if it's "just" a modified version of an existing costume.

I don't think they'd have the budget to go full CGI and not make it look like shit.
Even if their CGI is usually head and shoulders above the plastic-y nonsense of Super Sentai and Kamen Rider.

I'd have prefered if Toho made Godzilla a suite again. I love Shin and Minus Zero but you just never get used to the CGI no matter how good it is.

Started The Rising of the Shield Hero finally, I like how they get to the point with the false accusations and fake waifus can’t be trusted. The best part is what a ruthless son of a bitch the main character becomes after being belittled and treated like garbage by everyone. Good on him.

Ultraman Omega, Episode 4: Time for the Armor Gimmick.


I liked that they did some training with their new kaiju buddy, with a little gag as Omega himself tries to summon him to no avail.
The enemy kaiju's pretty simple in terms of capabilities (beyond one neat trick), but the design and mannerisms were pretty cool.
And fucking hell, that sword armor is OP. Though since this is tokushit this won't last very long.

We are also introduced to their boss and landlord, who in what is sure right-wing propaganda, turns out to be a swell guy.
And he's played by none other than Ryo Kinomoto, aka Captain Hibiki from Ultraman Dyna.

The traditional dance tutorial also hit, though in a bit of a twist it's also an in-universe short featuring the first on-screen appearance of the guy from the radio show that keeps playing every now and then during the show (as well as being used for the next episode preview).
