Retail SUCKS. I feel for those people. I'm always nice to them.

I did retail for about a year-and-a-half when I was in college

I did that shit for 16 years. Granted, at a high position for most of it in a rural area but still something I'll never return to.
For some reason it's perceived as a white collar sort of job while my current one is considered blue collar. Several people were puzzled why I "downgraded".

If only they knew. I've got way less bullshit to deal with, do less physical work and as a "worker" as opposed to being an "employee" I'm actually getting paid by the hour.
I'd have to work in the highest position in retail to earn anywhere close to what I earn now and it would include fuckloads of unpaid hours.
Not to mention the working hours in retail today.

Seriously, it's harder and harder to find apparel made out of 100% cotton. Polyester blends just start to ball and thin out almost immediately.
