Take Oblivion, add the RPG features that Oblivion lacks, and make the combat as hard as in Gothic - because an average young man in a historical game isn't supposed to survive a fight against 2-3 soldiers in armor.

I've installed Pathologic Classic HD and Pathologic 2, which is a remake of the first one but only covers the story of one of the 3 playable characters of the original - the surgeon/Haruspex.
Officially they cut the other 2 from the remake because of budget issues, but considering the the other 2 routes involve the same town and the same NPCs (and the 2 characters are in the game anyway), they could've released them as DLCs and they never did afaik.
I originally played the doctor/Bachelor's route when the game came out in the early 2000s; the translation was so shit that barely 50% of the dialogues were comprehensible and the ending was a lazy, breaking the 4th wall kind of deal.
Classic HD has a proper translation, and the story, setting, lore and atmosphere offer what S.L.O.P.P.E.R. 2 doesn't:



The game is a survival horror/RPG set in a fictional Eastern European town isolated by endless steppe, with an outbreak of Floydbola.
When it comes to the gameplay, the remake is fine but unfortunately in the original the Eurojank is out in full force:
Guns and knives will hit when they feel like it, even when their durability is above 90%.
Sometimes the game simply won't tell you what to do or where to go next, outside of vague hints in non-repeatable dialogues, and in letters you automatically receive at certain hours of the day.
That's a problem, because you are constantly on a time limit to complete the quests each day (the game lasts 12 days), and you also have to sacrifice some hours to sleep, fight enemies, avoid the Floyd miasmas and collect resources to survive.
Despite these flaws - some of the dialogues are also unnecessarily pretentious, that's probably the reason breadtubers love the game so much - if you like Silent Hill and Stalker it's worth a try.
I'm replaying the bachelor's route - the easiest one - then i'll play the surgeon in the remake, and then the saint/Changeling's route which is the hardest and can only be unlocked in the original after completing the game with either the doctor or the surgeon.

The worst thing I can say is that they should've offered language DLC. It's ridiculous how many gigabytes you can save by deleting voice files you don't give a toss about.
