What kind of old ass AC unit do you have? Mine is a Samsung with an inverter motor that makes almost no sound, even if I ever pump it down to 17C (but it cools so good that I never had to put it below 24C, even under 42C temperatures).

Oh yeah, Leiji Matsumoto worked on that with the Space Battleship Yamato team. I'd like to see it sometime. It sounds like there were some legal troubles. The Belgian author hated the Japanese and Germans and banned his work in those countries. But the story should be public domain by now.
