More than likely the RLM reviews convinced people to watch the movies rather than the reverse. You forget our generation and younger are part of the "ironic watcher" era.

The "I hate sand" scene always brings tears to my eyes.
I bet George has never even heard of the guy.Le Redditeur wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 12:22 am"B-but Mike Stoklasa is the reason why George HAD to sell Star Wars to Disney!" — a /tv/ mouthbreather

Are Zoomers really like that though? Millennials clearly are but I didn't get that vibe at all. Zoomers unironically like shit from the 2000s like Nu Metal, it's not like Millennials with 80s stuff laughing at how cheesy it is.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 1:34 amMore than likely the RLM reviews convinced people to watch the movies rather than the reverse. First time I heard that and it sounds really dumb. That's such a "had to be there as a teen" genre. You mean to tell me there's brocoli haircut hypebeasts listening to Coal Chamber and Static X right now?

Millennials were obsessed with 80’s from 20/30 years ago and now zoomers are obsessed with 2000’s media from 20/30 years ago.

And then society will finally collapse once we're getting to the generation having to obsess over CalArts media from 20/30 years ago.

And Boomers were obsessed with the 50s in the 70s with stuff like Grease and Happy Days. It's a repeating pattern, even in the 90s I remember their being a 70s revival with Abba getting popular with people demanding a reunion that they turned down. The only exemption seems to be the 80s, they didn't seem nostalgic for the 60s at the time.TheManWithNoPlan wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 9:55 amMillennials were obsessed with 80’s from 20/30 years ago and now zoomers are obsessed with 2000’s media from 20/30 years ago.
Zoomer chicks really love the Deftones, to the point where their mothers were showing them pictures of themselves in the 90s as "Deftones girls" with their mallgoth makeup.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 8:17 amFirst time I heard that and it sounds really dumb. It's mainly the popular bands the Zoomers like, Limp Bizkit has had a bit of a revival despite Millenials still shitting on them out of shame of liking the time (just like gen X did to Vanilla Ice) and some young Zoomer bands are being influenced by Nu Metal. Seeing it is very similar to Millenials loving 80s shit, all of the crappy clones like Korn Chamber are being filtered out and they are only getting the best of the genre.
I kind of understand why, nothing today really sounds like Nu Metal at all so it's fresh to them, the genre was rammed down our throats at the time which is why it was so hated and Zoomers haven't really experienced the Monoculture outside of sports. Online has made everything fragmented so there is no "water cooler" talk about the TV show that was on last night, and the same applies to music. Corporate media was obnoxious back then, if you turn on the radio today it is still like that with the same 6 songs playing over and over again. Nu Metal was rammed down people's throats like other rock fad before it like Grunge and Hair Metal, Disco was the first example of this and people hated it at the time too.
Zoomers though never experienced this since by the 2010s that was dead and avoiding fads like that is easy. I've heard that some Zoomers don't even hate Enter Sandman since they haven't heard it played 1000 times on rock radio.
And going back and giving some Limp Bizkit a chance with fresh ears yes Fred Durst is still annoying but the songs aren't that bad. Fred was at his most annoying on Chocolate Starfish which is what most people remember, Significant Other is actually solid and on the first two albums he at least had something to say. Yeah it was teenage angst (despite him being nearly 30) about his girlfriend cheating on him and not deep at all (first album was him raging like an incel, the second album was him coming to terms with it but the way a 16 year old gets over their first girlfriend) but it was on Chocolate Starfish where he was just annoying and getting high on his own ego after Significant Other did well. Chocolate Starfish was also rushed to take advantage of the momentum of the prior album, the quality is inconsistent even if you ignore Fred's annoying vocals. And that's another thing, his vocals are no where near as whiny on Significant Other, it's on Chocolate Starfish where he sounds like the annoying whiny cunt that you remember.

I will never again listen to a single fucking Metallica song past Justice! It's insane how much of a pass these faggots get.

Metallica may have introduced me to much better bands, but they are still the most overrated metal band of all time.

They're the only metal band most normies know about, so you have to deal with it.
