Yeesh.

Will the food menu have any "Dahmer"-related items?

Also, I've never seen the term "retail therapy" before. Is that new? Collecting Netflix merch is good for your mental health!
Netflix to Open Massive Entertainment, Dining and Shopping Complexes in Two Cities in 2025
https://variety.com/2024/digital/news/n ... 236040989/

By Todd Spangler
Netflix has announced the first two cities for its gigantic new in-person experience venues, slated to open in 2025.

They’re not exactly theme parks, but the new Netflix Houses — to open next year in King of Prussia, Pa., and Dallas — will feature a wide array of shopping outlets, eateries and experiential activities tied to the streamer’s major franchises like “Bridgerton,” “Stranger Things” and “Squid Game.”

The two locations will occupy former department store locations at the King of Prussia Mall (at 180 North Gulph Road) near Philadelphia and at the Galleria Dallas (13350 Dallas Parkway), each spanning footprints of more than 100,000 square feet.

The Netflix House locations will build on previous pop-up live experiences the company has staged for “Bridgerton,” “Money Heist,” “Stranger Things,” “Squid Game” and Netflix Bites, designed to “create an unforgettable venue to explore your favorite Netflix stories and characters beyond the screen year-round,” the company said.

At least initially, Netflix doesn’t see these permanent retail destinations as becoming a sizable new business segment. Rather, the goal — as with its other IRL events and pop-ups — is for them to serve as marketing vehicles that invite fan engagement, as a way to support the core subscription-streaming biz.

"At Netflix House, you can enjoy regularly updated immersive experiences, indulge in retail therapy, and get a taste — literally — of your favorite Netflix series and films through unique food and drink offerings,” Marian Lee, Netflix’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “We’ve launched more than 50 experiences in 25 cities, and Netflix House represents the next generation of our distinctive offerings. The venues will bring our beloved stories to life in new, ever-changing and unexpected ways.”

Outside each Netflix House, you’ll see sculptures and a mural mash-up of characters from popular Netflix titles, according to the company. As examples of what to expect at the brick-and-mortar complexes, the company says, “Imagine waltzing with your partner to an orchestral cover of a Taylor Swift song on a replica of the ‘Bridgerton’ set –– and then walking around the corner to compete in the Glass Bridge challenge from ‘Squid Game.'” Visitors can then visit a restaurant “with food inspired by Netflix shows from around the world” and then browse a store with merch such as “that Hellfire Club T-shirt you’ve always wanted” from “Stranger Things.”

This would be the fitting thread. You could also just make one. It's not like this forum's space is valuable.

Watched a little bit of SNL - for two reasons.

1) I think Weekend Update has been pretty good lately. The two guys have a decent rapport where they try to one up each other with the offensiveness of their jokes. It's refreshing. It has this vibe of two dudes fucking with each other.

2) I didn't think - during the last election - that the people they got to play Biden were that bad. Jim Carrey made me laugh and Woody Harrelson during the primary was better. Hadn't seen what they'd done since he won, tho.

Saw a sketch that was supposed to have both Biden and Newsom. They have some digs at his age, but they're softballs. Newsom is nowhere near as biting as he should be, either.

Like Biden has fucking press conferences where he gets on - and he looks like he's buffering or he just straight up mumbles 75% of a paragraph and it sounds like mrfumrfumrfu - and Newsom, I'm not a commiefornian - but I saw his debate with Meatball Ron - which Newsom lost (and I am a left leaner who detests Desantis) - and the SNL actor does not capture the slicked up used car salesman vibe that I think Newsom carries.

I get mocking Biden during the Obama years - since Obama was very precise in the vibe he wanted to put out - even then I think Key and Peele was producing funnier Obama material at the time. I digress, Joe's always been ridiculous - and there's always been a difference between a line his people wrote for him (like that dig he made about Rudy Giuliani in 08) - and him unscripted - like when he was describing Obama the same way you'd describe a race horse in that same campaign. He's just gotten worse in 15 years - meaning the SNL material should be like A+ type shit - some of the best stuff the show's put out - and its just not it, man. Like I can go into a fuckin bar and crack a dig at Joe's gaffes or how he looks like he's buffering sometimes and get at least a chuckle from a good chunk of people, but the actual comedy show seems scared to show comedy - a fear that was not present during the Trump years. And I liked their Trump despite Alec Baldwin - I didn't mind Darrell Hammond either.

DHI is proof you can be both a massive homosexual and a virgin. They're not exclusive. If you display both in large enough quantities you can qualify for mod status.

They can't be too hard on Biden. Otherwise they might get blamed for Trumps 1,000 years of darkness.

Given how Jon Stewart's getting screamed at for actually taking funny digs at Mushbrain - that's probably true.

The key to a good parody is that you have to at least somewhat like who you are making fun of. At the very least you shouldn't hate them.
That's the trouble with Alec Baldwin. His Trump impression was unfunny garbage. You could feel the faggot absolutely seething every millisecond.

What an absolute crime to comedy all that shit was. Trump speaks funny, sounds very distinct, will say the dumbest shit with overboarding confidence and has very funny mannerisms.
Yet most of those lefty comedians had a garbage Trump. Every single bigbungeeee or Zack Hadel impression absolutely destroys them because they are actually having fun with it.

Because you can't put words into someone's mouth in a parody that are things that person never ever would say.
