And boy am I ever sick of the historic revisionists claiming people liked Episode 1 when it came out. They didn't. Fucking nobody did. People hated Jar Jar, they hated child actor Anakin and they thought it was boring.

They grasped at straws like "the pod race was pretty cool, right guys?" and how one shouldn't worry because there would be no child actor Anakin in the next one.

I hated the pod race. It felt like filler. I was bored by it all and wanted to get on with the story. I was shocked that some people thought it was the highlight of the film. The only decent part of the movie was the Duel of the Fates lightsaber battle.

I think the pod racers looked and sounded cool enough but the racing scene was definitely just filler. But almost all of EP1 was filler.
