They may argue that. They are fucking retards if they do.
It's simply not valid. You'd talk about Brauarten instead or about Sorten.

There is not a single instance where you'd say Biere and there's no necessity to do so in the first place.
You can say:
"Ich habe hier vier verschiedene Pilsener."
or
"Wir haben fünfzehn Brauarten und über vierzig verschiedene Sorten und Abfüllungen."

To resort to absolute nonsense because you're a fucking moron that can't articulate himself robs German entirely of it's elegance.
Which is also the reason why the trend of unnecessary female versions of occupations get on my nerves beyond belief.

Especially with those that don't have a proper female version because they are French loan words.
There is no Monteurin! It's simply Monteur, regardless of the sex of the person. If you really wanted the proper female version, it would be Monteurette, which sounds absolutely behindert.
